Emma Frances Snow passed away Friday, January 6, 2012, surrounded by her family and friends in Abilene, Texas at the age of ninety-four.

Emma was born May 12, 1917 in MaryNeal, Texas to John Edward and Aurelia Dozier Clay. She married R.L. Snow on October 24, 1934 and had two children, Richard Dale Snow and Barbara Rose Snow Daugherty. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Martha Frances Snow; three brothers, J.D. (Jake) Clay, Henry (Boose) Clay, and James (Jim) Clay; one great-grandson, James Matney.

Emma, known as Granny to most, was a homemaker and enjoyed her time cooking and serving others. She was woman of great faith, hope, and love to all who know her. She was a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas.

She is survived by her children, R.D. Snow of Clyde, Texas and Barbara Snow Daugherty of Abilene, Texas; Four grandchildren, Randy (Heidi) Daugherty, Steffony Matney, Ricky Snow, and Carla (James) Henson; Nine great-grandchildren, Erin, Paige, Dylan, Kate, Jessica, Courtney, Ragan, Tyler and Abbey; Three sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Aspermont Cemetery with her grandson, Randy Daugherty officiating and under the direction of North’s Funeral Home.
