Rose Pauline “Nonnie” DeShazo .Went home to be with the Lord January 23, 2012. Funeral will be Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 at North’s Funeral home Abilene, Texas. Pauline will be buried in the Stamford Cemetery alongside her husband Wallace DeShazo, Roger Lee Garrett, a nephew from Lubbock, Texas, will officiate the service. Visitation will be at North’s Funeral Home Friday evening, January 27, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:30.Pauline DeShazo, 93, was born April 4, 1918, to Jim and Florence Dew in Author, Oklahoma. She married Wallace DeShazo September 16.1936 in Lubbock, Texas. She moved to Abilene, Texas in the early 1940’s and has lived in the area for over seventy years. Pauline has work for Furr’s Supermarket, Timex, and AISD. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde, Texas. Pauline and Wallace retired to Lake Stamford in 1980, where she enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables she grew. She was an avid reader and loved to tell others about the books she read. Word Search was another activity she loved to do. While living at the Lake she volunteered as a Lap Grandma at the Paint Creek Elementary School. Pauline loved spending time with her family. She hosted many family reunions during the summers as a way to reunite loved ones. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband Wallace DeShazo, her parents Jim and Florence Dew, three brothers Bruce, Garland, and Willie, two sister Doris and Evelyn, And two grandkids Paula Rae DeShazo and Laz Lynn Mayo. Pauline is survived by two sons Jimmy DeShazo of Ronoak, Texas, and Charles DeShazo of Clyde, Texas and two daughters, Margaret Mayo of Winlock, Washington and Sue Lemmons of Owasso, Oklahoma. One sister, Marie Garrett of Lubbock, Texas, one sister in law Lora Dew of New Deal, Texas, and numerous grandkids and great grandkids. On line condolences can be made at www.northsfuneralhome.com
