Obituary

Abelardo "Lalo" Santibanez went to his final resting place Wednesday October 8 2008. He was 71 years old. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Iglesia Bautista Ambler Church with Paul Vasquez officiating. Burial to follow in the City Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Friday evening in North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St. Lalo was born November 21 1936 in Abilene Texas to Camilo and Cruz Santibanez. He married Erlinda Flores in April 1953. Lalo was a roofer for over 40 years. Lalo enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; they were the light of his life. He enjoyed going to see his grandsons play baseball at Sears Park. Lalo enjoyed fishing watching Cowboy football and spending time with his friends from the barrio. Grandpa you will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. We always knew that you were on our side no matter what good or bad. You always made each and every one of us feel so loved and special to you. Our hearts are at ease knowing you are no longer in pain and watching over us. He is survived by his wife Erlinda; two sons Abelardo Jr. and wife Susie and Jesse and wife Anita. One daughter Susan Gomez. The grandchildren he raised; Jennifer Jason Kayla and Joey Gomez. Others include Josh and Gloria Santibanez Amanda Jesse Jr. and Brittany Santibanez. Fourteen great-grandchildren. Two brothers; Fred and Raymond Santibanez. One sister Frances Rodriquez and many nieces and nephews.
