Our beloved mother, Adrien Ann Garza, known as Annie, 62, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Merkel, Texas, to Cecil and Maria Garza on November 28, 1962. While the disease was a devastating challenge, it was not the defining chapter of her life. It could never diminish her vibrant spirit and immense love she shared with everyone she met. Annie lived a full and meaningful life. She grew up in Abilene, Texas, as the youngest of eight children. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1981. On July 23, 1984, she married Ruben Pallarez, and together they had three amazing children: Adrian, Nina, and Crissa. Though a devoted mother of three, she also proudly served briefly in the United States Army. A few years after her divorce in 1995, she moved to the Valley, settling in Harlingen, Texas, where she taught basic computer skills at TSTC. During this time, Annie attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville, graduating with her degree in 2005. While working on her second degree, she relocated to San Antonio, Texas. She loved her life in San Antonio and worked for AT&T for nearly a decade. Annie was a woman of faith, with a free spirit and kind to all. Throughout her life, she met many people and formed beautiful friendships that she cherished dearly. She adored her family-her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews-caring for them as if they were her own. The love she had for her children was fierce and unconditional, but her six grandchildren were her world. Annie found joy in live music, the beach, good food, long walks, and her spooky shows. Adrien Ann Garza is preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Cecil Garza; her brother, Jesus; her niece, Samantha; her great-nephew, Samuel; and her grandparents. She is survived by her children: Adrian (Ana) Pallarez, Nina (Josh) Virtue, and Crissa (Christian) Rodriguez; her brothers, Joe Garza, Tomas Garza, and James (Irma) Garza; her sisters, Olivia Talamantez, Lydia Garza, Carmen Souza, and Irene Isais; and her grandchildren, Noah, Dylan, James, Shawn, Jayton, and Ellie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial service will be held Saturday November 22, 2025 at 11am at North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10am-11am prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Annie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice that supports research into this challenging disease. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Avir Nursing Home and her hospice nurse, Lindy, for their compassionate care, especially during the difficult journey with Alzheimer's.
