Obituary

Aiko "Peggy" Cook moved to her new residence in heaven on Tuesday July 28th 2009 as she lived her life with dignity and grace. Visitation is from Noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday August 1st at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. in Abilene Texas. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at North's Funeral Home. Interment will commence Monday August 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene 7457 West Lake Road. Aiko the youngest of three children was an excellent athletic student which prepared her to be an elementary school teacher in her native country Japan. Always an exemplary employee Aiko was often recognized as being the best at what she did. Upon arrival to the United States she shifted her focus from teaching to being a devoted wife and mother instilling the values of education and excellence in her children and grandchildren alike. Aiko came to Texas in 1956 where she was greeted with open arms by her husband's family whom she loved and made her own. Aiko is survived by Ray her loving and loyal husband of over 56 years and her three children Charles Maggie Linda and their spouses. She will especially be missed by her four cherished grandchildren Kelsey Michael Geoffrey Steven and her 3 great-grandchildren.
