Alberto S. Aldrete of McKinney Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday February 1 2010. ""I have fought the good fight I have finished the race I have kept the faith"". 2 Timothy 4:7. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Merkel Church of Christ with Dustin Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park on Hwy 277. Alberto was born on April 27 1919 in San Angelo Texas to Francisco and Sabas Aldrete. He married Olivia Talamantez in 1942 just before leaving to serve his country as an infantryman in the European Theatre of World War II. He returned from the military and attended San Angelo College where he became a mechanic. He also served throughout his life ministering in the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife: Olivia; three sons: Tony Udil Alberto Jr.; and two daughters: Sylvia and Gloria. He is survived by one daughter: Sonja Juarez and husband Ray of Merkel; two sons: Moses and wife Rosa and Ramiro and wife Sonya both of McKinney Texas. Alberto was blessed to have numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Many in his community who were not related to him also endeared him and called him ""Granpa"" as well.
