Alice Fournier, age 67 passed from this life on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, at her home in Abilene. A Celebration of Alice's Life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, November 4th at North's Funeral Home. Alice was born on March 1st, 1956, in Ironton, Missouri to Willis and Nettie Underwood. She was a graduate of Fredericktown High School, Class of 1974 and went on to earn two Masters Degrees. Alice retired as a Civil Servant for the United States Air Force. She was passionate about many things in her life and loved running. Alice competed in many full and half marathons all over the world including Paris and Berlin. For 22 years she was the Crew Chief for the hot air balloon, "Shooting Star". She could be a "bit bossy" but was an expert of all preflight operations. Most of all Alice was an "Ebay Queen". She shopped almost every day at thrift stores for deals that she could re-sell for a profit and trust me she bought a lot more than she sold. For the last 3 years she volunteered at Meals on Wheels, delivering food 5 days a week. She loved baking goodies for the clients and really enjoyed watching their faces light up when she gave them one of her homemade, freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Alice often finished her day sitting around the kitchen island with Jack, talking about the day behind them and making plans for the days ahead. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Nettie Underwood. She is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas "Jack" Fournier; children, Justin and Gemma; daughter in law, Angie; grandson, Bleu; sisters, Merilee and Martha; dozens and dozens of nieces and nephews; her dogs Rusty, Suzie and her cats, Titus, Max, Maggie, Felix and Barry.
