Obituary

Allan (Al) DeeAun Gamblin, 81, of Anson, passed away in the early morning on Friday, May 22, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. A graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Rd. Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, May 25, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Abilene, Texas. Mr. Gamblin was born on March 19, 1934 in Yantis, Texas to his parents, Gaylord Debs Gamblin and Nora Inez Moorman. He had a fulfilling career as an educator, beginning his profession as a teacher in IIo, Peru, and ending his career as a superintendent in New Deal, Texas. In addition to the many school events and activities he attended, he was actively involved in the community through organizations such as, The Lions Club, and The Cub Scouts. His career spanned many years and during this time he touched many lives and continued to touch lives until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James E. Gamblin and sister-in-law Sue Gamblin. He is survived by four brothers; Gayle Gamblin, Rell Gamblin, Debs Gamblin and Fred Moore; his children, DeeAuna Lamare and Brent Gamblin, and grandchildren, Cullen Gamblin and Kylee Gamblin.
