Allen Dwight McGee passed away Wednesday January 4, 2023 in Abilene, TX Graveside service will be held Friday January 13, 2023 at 11am at the Hamlin Cemetery, followed by Memorial Service at 12pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hamlin. Viewing will be held Thursday from 11-5pm at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Abilene, TX.
Allen Dwight McGee "Butta Head" was born in Stamford TX to Martha Jo McGee and Willie Hooper Jr. on June 1,1974. He attended Hamlin Public Schools in Hamlin,Tx. He graduated from Big Spring High School in Big Spring,TX. He loved and played football and ran track in middle and in high school in Hamlin and Big Spring TX. He went to state 2 or 3 years in both sprint and mile relays. He was a top return and Top running back. He was on one of the best relay teams in the state of Texas.
He Was a member of Oak Grove Baptist in Hamlin, and attended New Light Baptist Church in Abilene. Allen accepted Christ at an early age and 4 years ago received his Ministers Certificate.
He loved to sing, cook, and to be around family. He always had a joke to make someone laugh and was the most loving person. Allen leaves to cherish his memories Daughter Shateria M. McGee, Son D'Ante Gambles, Daughter Angel, Daughter Alenyia O. McGee, Son Duanae J. McGee, Daughter Martha Jo McGee, Daughter Za'Niyah McGee, Step-son Le Var Jackson. Grandchildren; Jurnee N. Lepolo, Damira A. Boston, David A Boston, Heff J. Armani and Nova R. Lynn. brothers: LaCarlton Hooper, Quincy McGee sisters: Tanja Green,
Stephanie Lee, Lola Washington, Melody McGee, Shelia McGee And a host of Aunts, Uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and many friends.
Allen Dwight McGee was preceded in death by Parents Martha J. McGee and Willie Hooper Jr., Grandparents Maternal AM and Arthelia McGee, Paternal WJ Hooper and Norma Williams; Aunts: Pearl Hunter, Neomia Rice, Sandra Hooper, Uncles: Ray McGee and Thomas Fry
Pallbearers will be Duanae J McGee(dj), Quincy McGee, Carlton Hooper, Garney Smith, Steve Bass, Mark Thompson, D'Ante Gambles.
