Alma Pearl Smith 73 of Abilene entered into rest at Hendrick Medical Center on December 19 2008. Funeral services will be Tuesday December 23 at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange. Burial to follow at Englewood Cemetery at Slaton Texas. Arrangements are being handled by North's Funeral Home. She was born to Solomon (Sol) and Lee A-Van Greenwood Smith on April 16 1935 in Winters Texas. She met and married Laris Woodson in 1950 and went on to have nine children. Mrs. Smith was a long time resident of Slaton Texas and was a member of the Ivory Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one daughter Sharon Lee Woodson; three brothers Pete L. Smith Solomon (Price) Smith and Alfonso (Cecil) Smith. She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen Hill of Abilene Charlotte Woodson of Abilene Sheila Woodson of Las Vegas Nevada Jeniece Woodson of Abilene Maxzene Woodson of Abilene and Karla Smith of Ft. Polk Louisiana; three sons: Lawrence Woodson of Huntsville Texas Michael Woodson of Abilene and Marcus Woodson of Oklahoma; three sisters Clara Bell Tolliver of Rotan Texas Rosa Lee Jefferson of Ruidoso New Mexico and Loma Jean Smith of San Angelo Texas.
