Andrew Johnson, 38, of Abilene, TX, passed away December 1, 2017, at Hendrick Medical Center, Abilene, TX. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday December 6, 2017, in Macedonia Baptist Church with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00pm, Tuesday December 5, 2017, in North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street.
Andy was full of life and laughter. He was born on July 16, 1979, in Abilene, TX. He graduated from Abilene High School in 2001. In 2001, Andy joined the Cypress Activity Center where he participated in multiple Special Olympics events and many activities with his friends and trainers he loved so much. He loved riding the City Link Bus, swapping stories and sharing life with his beloved bus drivers. He loved traveling, music, dancing, cook shows, wrestling, and magic. Above all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Andy is preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Johnson.
Andy is survived by his father, Ronnie Johnson and wife Nancy Gilmore-Johnson of Abilene; three sisters, Ronda Johnson, of Abilene, Theleesa Jasmin and husband, David Jasmin, of Houston, TX, and Montoya Burton of Morrow, Georgia; and one brother, Terry Gilmore, of Abilene, TX. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
