Obituary

Our brother, dad, and grandfather left this life at the age of 62 on November 30, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his sons. The memorial service will be held at: Old Paths Baptist Church 3501 Chimney Rock Rd. Abilene, TX 79606 Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, and the memorial service will start at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 6th. Angel Valdez was born in Abilene, Texas, to Leon and Silvina Valdez on July 30, 1962. He lived his life in Abilene, where he raised his family and dedicated his career to working at Kmart for more than 35 years. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Angel was the kind of person who could always be relied upon. He was there for us through every moment, no matter how big or small. Whether we needed a listening ear, guidance, or simply someone to lean on, he was unwavering in his support. His dependability was a constant source of strength, and we knew we could always count on him. He made us feel safe, loved, and understood, and that is something we will carry with us forever. Angel is survived by his sons Randall and Andrew, their spouses, and his grandchildren: his son Randall and his spouse Stephanie, and their children Ime, Sarah, Byron, Leon, and Olivia; his son Andrew and his spouse LaPwe, and their daughter December, along with Andrew's sons Alex and Caleb. He is also survived by his siblings: seven brothers, six sisters, their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews. His brothers include Richard (Rachel), Robert, Luis (Juanita), Paul (Mary Ruth), Thomas (Stella), George (Margaret), and Adam; his sisters include Josie (Joe) Albarado, Mary (Hector) Caro, Clara Sanchez, Elena Mack, Carmen (James) Cortinaz, and Christina (Joe) Jimenez. Though he is no longer with us, Angel leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His unwavering support, wisdom, and laughter will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His soul has returned to God, and his memory and life live on in and with us.
