Angelita "Angel" Romero 94 of Abilene gained her wings on Saturday May 6, 2023.Visitation will be held Thursday May 11, 2023 at Norths Funeral Home 242 Orange Abilene, Tx from 7-9 pm (rosary to held from 8-9 pm). Funeral services on Friday May 12, 2023 at 1 pm at Beltway Park Church, South Campus 4009 Beltway South Abilene, Tx. Graveside services to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park 5750 US 277 Abilene, Tx. Angel was born to Luciano Alvarez and Ascension "Chona" Alvarez on October 2, 1928 in Abilene, Tx. She married Baldemar Gutierrez on March 7, 1944 in Abilene, Tx. Angel had a passion for her family, grandchildren, cooking, fishing and dancing. She loved the outdoors and being around her family. No one ever left her house on an empty stomach. She had a big heart and always gave her love to so many people. Chances are if you met her she touched your life greatly. She taught many of us how to make tortillas, tamales, and just some good homemade food. Angel was a homemaker. Angel was preceded in death by her parents Luciano Alvarez and Ascension "Chona" Alvarez, sisters Carmen Portillo and Juana Rodriguez, brothers Chelo, Ramon and David, sons Benny Gutierrez and Albert Rodriguez and daughters JoAnn Olvera and Brenda Martinez. Angel is survived by her daughters Carmen (Dalmacio) Diaz, Stella (Joe) Galvan, Dolores (Robert) Loredo, Rebecca (Daniel) Gamez and son Baldemar Gutierrez. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and all who loved her. She loved them all very dearly. She will be greatly missed. Pallbearers are: Manuel Luna Jr., Robertlee Loredo, Jimmy Loredo, Christopher Diaz, Steve Galvan and Michael Gutierrez.
