Ann Addison Horton went to be with the Lord March 28 2009. She was at the Hospice of Wichita Falls. Graveside services will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel Texas at 1:00 PM Tuesday March 31 2009 under the direction of North's Funeral Home. She was born October 24 1916 in Merkel to James and Mattie Addison. She married the late James Clay Horton September 28 1935. She was a devoted wife and mother. She retired from Bethania Hospital with a record of loyal service. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers H.E. & ""Chubby"" Addison; two sisters Louise Fitzgerald & Madilyn Hinkle; husband; son Jay Clay Horton Jr.; and grandson Jerromy Jay Horton. Ann fought a great battle with heart disease overcoming many obstacles. She closed her eyes in rest from weariness. She was ready to go to her true home knowing that she was loved and that her family had a love strong enough to support each other and carry on her legacy throughout their lives. Her passion was her family. Her surviving relatives are daughters Louann Mahan and husband Gary and Carolyn Cope and husband Dale of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren Cody Cope Cindy Hoff Kelly and Kris Mahan Shanda Kelsey Jana Horton and Quaid Clark; and 9 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
