Anthony Eugene Zacniewski, a devoted family man, certified safety professional and health official, and resident of Abilene, Tx, sadly passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2024 at the age of 58. A memorial will be held Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 2pm at North's Funeral Home, followed by visitation from 3-4pm. Anthony is survived by his son, Anthony (Taylor) Zacniewski; his brother, Robert (Roseann) Zacniewski; his grandson, Graycen Zacniewski, his fiance, Michelle Watson Leinneweber; his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Manuel, Joseph, Samantha and others; and an abundance of family and friends. Anthony was born in Dover, Delaware April 9, 1966 to Rebecca (Suzi) and Eugene Zacniewski. After graduating from Roswell High School, he became a New Mexico State Trooper in 1987. A decade later, he found his place in the Texas oil field. As a genuinely self-made man, Anthony worked his way from being in the field as a rough neck to front office as a safety official. During his remaining years, he wrote policies, procedures and safety manuals for oil and gas production industries. He was a very humble man, but had many awards and achievements. In 1995, he welcomed his only son, who was his pride and joy in life. In 2021, Anthony rekindled a romantic relationship with Michelle Watson Leinneweber, who he loved deeply. As an avid fisherman, Anthony truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends on his boat. All who knew him, knew his dedication to the Lord, and his zest for life. Anthony will always be remembered for his teasing jokes, genuine kindness, unfailing work ethic, and his passion for his family. His family and all who knew him would be so grateful to follow in his footsteps on how he lived his life.
