Barbara Ann Smith 56, of Abilene passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday in North's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Burial to follow at 4:00 p.m. in North Belton Cemetery, Belton, Texas, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Ms. Smith was born July 20, 1959 at James Connally Air Force Base to Hubert and Mary Ann (Wilson) Smith. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1977. She worked nineteen and half years at Montgomery Ward's and fourteen years at J. C. Penney's. She was a member of the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. She is past Queen of Ziphron Temple 100 in 1998. She is past president of the Social Order of the Beauchiant Order 192. She is a past and current Worthy Matron of the Queen Esther Chapter #833, OES. She was preceded in death by a sister, brother, her mother and numerous aunts and uncles. She is survived by her father, Hubert Smith and numerous friends.
