Obituary

Benjamin Franklin Davidson 87 of Clyde born December 1 1921 in Abilene Texas passed away Wednesday July 15 2009 after a short illness. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 18 2009 at Elmwood Memorial Park Hwy 277 West under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday July 17 2009 at North's Funeral Home North 3rd and Orange. Ben was born to Frank and Odie Batwell Davidson. He was one of four boys George Finner and Tom Davidson. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. He worked as a young boy for the 3 C's known as CCC camp which built roads and bridges and was set up by President Roosevelt to employ young people during the depression years. As an adult he was employed by South Texas Lumber and Bowman's Lumber Company. He served in the United States Military in the Army Air Corp as a lineman during WWII. He was a disabled veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. Ben was preceded in death by his wife Burlene Davidson. He is survived by his eight children: Gloria Glover of Wylie Jerry Davidson of Abilene Frankie Davidson of Abilene Mickey Davidson of San Marcos Ricky Davidson of Granbury Katrene Ball of Wadsworth Ohio Kenneth Davidson of Fort Worth and Mary Ann Smith of Abilene; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
