Bennie J. Jones Jr.,better knows as "Ben" 54, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on April 11, 2025. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Abilene City Cemetery, with Rev. Andrew Penns officiating.
Ben was born on July 24, 1970, in Abilene to the late Bennie Jones Sr. and Margaret Ann Thomas. He attended school locally and spent his life deeply rooted in his community.
He was employed for many years at Broadwind, where he worked hard and took pride in his contribution to the wind energy industry. Bennie lived life on his own terms, never wavering from being true to himself.
A man of simple joys, Ben loved fishing and found great happiness sharing that passion with children. He was known for his warm spirit, his love for BBQ, and the way he brought people together. Whether hanging out with friends or spending time with family, he found joy in the little things and always kept laughter close.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Jones Sr. and Margaret Ann Thomas; his uncle Bracy Jones; aunts Sharon Bennett, Lena Mae Jones, and Emma Jean Hines; and his grandmother Annie Mae Jones.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his children: Bennie Jones jr,Jontae D. Jones, Maryanne, Malachi Jones, Journey Jones, Demarcus Calloway, Dominique Calloway, and Desean Jones; his siblings Bashaki Thomas, Sonya Jones, Tamera Jones, and Miqueshia Jones.
He is also survived by his aunts Beverly Blockman (Charlie), Elaine Jones (Richard), Brenda Jones, and Marion Brown; his uncle Billy Jones; and a host of cousins, including special cousins Jaquayla Jones, Page Jones, Quan Jordan, and Ralph Jones. Followed by his best friend Chris Hines.
Ben's presence, his laughter, and his love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories shared, and the memories cherished.
