Bessie Turner 80 of Abilene passed away December 24 2008. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Garland Wallace officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St. Mrs. Turner was born May 31 1928 to Rueben and Lillie Christopher in Wylie Texas. She married Charles Turner August 7 1971 in Albany Texas. She worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas for over 20 years. They returned to Abilene in 1998. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved the Lord and read her bible everyday. Among the other things she enjoyed and loved were her grandchildren flowers cooking and animals. She was preceded in death by her parents seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband Charles. Twelve children; Marilyn Boughton Alice Mayo Deborah Oehlke Kay Ann Butler Charlena Parr Dennis Cunningham Marshall Cunningham Darrell Cunningham Farrin Cunningham Michael Turner Larry Turner and Gary Turner. One brother Floyd Christopher. Thirty-two grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
