Bettye Diane Sims was born on October 27, 1956. She passed away on June 27, 2026. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Debbie Gilliam of Abilene, Texas, and Brenda Abraham of Abilene; her daughter, Rebecca Sims Bamber of Abilene; and her late former husband, Edward D. Sims Sr. of Abilene, Texas. She is survived by her daughter, Ariel Crabtree Sims, and her husband, Stephen Crabtree, of Abilene, Texas, and her son, Edward D. Sims Jr. and his wife, Dora Rodriguez Sims, of Wichita Falls, Texas. She also leaves behind her amazing grandchildren: Logan Brady Sims and his wife, Kaitlyn Sims; Byce Hutto, Lacey Bamber, Gracie Sims, and Aria Crabtree. Ms. Sims was a home health care worker for more than 20 years in Abilene, Texas. She was strong in her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and raised all three of her children in the home where she lived for more than 40 years. Ms. Sims loved her church, Victory Baptist Church, and faithfully attended every Sunday and Wednesday night service. She loved reading her Bible and singing praise and worship hymns in church, as well as doing those same things at home with her children when they were younger, teaching them all about Jesus as much as she could. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas.
