Services to celebrate the life of Billie Lounell Spivey Friend are scheduled for Friday January 22 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Hodges Baptist Church 13933 CR 495 Hawley Texas with pastors Matt Cheevers and Allan Cartrite officiating. Burial will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street. Born on September 11 1927 in Electra Texas she departed this life on January 18 2010. Billie was the eldest child of Roy and Pauline Spivey. She married Riley E. Friend on March 26 1948 in Burkburnett Texas. They located to the Abilene area in 1953. Billie was a homemaker and worked many years in the nurseries of First Baptist Church and Elmcrest Baptist Church. She is loved and will be missed by all her family and many many friends. She is survived by her husband Riley Earl Friend of Hawley Texas; son Jimmy Friend and wife Donna of Haslet Texas; daughter Paula McDonald of Santa Fe New Mexico; son Randal Friend and wife Peggy of Abilene Texas; daughter Debra Bowyer Dupriest of Lake Charles Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister Barbara Dilbeck and husband Loyd of Burkburnett Texas; and many many nieces nephews and cousins.
