Billy Leon Bowman 69 of Abilene passed away December 4 2011.  Services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at North's Memorial Chapel under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street with Rev. Melinda Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at North's Funeral Home.   Billy Leon Bowman was born on September 16 1942 in Tipton Oklahoma. He was the son of Willy Edgar (Bill) Bowman and Doris Ray Beggs Bowman. He died December 4 2011 at his home in Abilene Texas surrounded by his family.   He is survived by his wife Carolyn Francis Blanscet whom he married December 11 1968 in Juarez Mexico. Mr. Bowman has four sons Billy Dean Bowman and wife Debra Kevin Leon Bowman and wife Lisa   Zane Leon Bowman and wife Samantha and Bobby Lee Bowman and significant other Robin one daughter Sandy Lee Arter and husband Nethaniel. Twelve grandchildren Chris Nichole Shanna Kody Marisa Ian and Megan Bowman Justin Shannon and Jacquelyn Flatt Claudia Jessie Arias one great-granddaughter Khloe and a great-grandson expected in March 2012. Three brothers Tommy Joe Zanovec of Oklahoma Gary Duane Zanovec of Oklahoma Michael Charles Bailey and wife Penny of Abilene. One sister-in-law Norrene Morgan and husband Virgil. Four brothers-in-law Sonny Blanscet and wife Alice Robert Balscet and wife Liz Calvin Blanscet and wife Dee Dee Larry Banscet; many cousins and at least sixteen nieces and nephews.   Billy loved to sing and play guitar. He had a good singing voice and sang in church in his teens. Billy his children and friends got together often to enjoy singing and playing.   Billy was in the Army for two years most of which he served in Germany.
