He met the love of his life Earlyne Abbott in third grade while attending College Heights Elementary. He finished high school at Abilene High School in 1957. Bobby and Earlyne were married August 16 1957 and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in August 2007. While in high school Bobby joined the Marine Reserves and served for six years. Bobby was an upholsterer all of his life most notably owning and operating Bob's Trim Shop for over 27 years. Bob and his family moved to Houston where they lived for 13 years until they returned to Abilene in 2000. Before starting their family Bob and Earlyne enjoyed life together and loved to have fun with their friends. They enjoyed traveling dancing and socializing. In 1960 their first of three children was born. Bob was involved with his children's' lives through softball baseball Boy Scouts PTA fishing camping and hunting. They enjoyed many summer vacations together as a family where Bobby would always get lost. They had many wonderful memories together in their back yard swimming in the family pool and barbecuing hamburgers. Bobby loved to have friends come over to their house to socialize. In 1986 Bobby was blessed with the first of the six things that brought him the most joy in life his grandchildren. He loved spending as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren especially after retiring two years ago. Bobby attended all of his grandchildren's' functions including sporting events school functions and church functions. He was always there for his grandchildren. Bobby's idea of heaven was being home with his grandchildren and having them to himself all day. He loved fishing until the day he died but it was especially sweeter when his children and grandchildren could go with him. His long time fishing companion of over 40 years was Marvin Ellison. Some of Bobby's passions were old western movies hot rods gun and knife shows swap meets flea markets and making shadow boxes. He was a devoted Christian who loved his Lord with all of his heart. Part of his daily prayer was "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me". Bobby was excited and very much looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild.
