Bobby Saunders 85, of Abilene passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in North's Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Ms. Saunders was born December 27, 1928 in Winters, Texas to Cliff and Gertrude (Butts) Fornes. She married Homer Saunders on January 1, 1949. She worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for over fifty years. She loved arts and crafts and sewing. She was a great dessert maker. She was truly loved and will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister. She is survived by her three sons; Roy and Janice Saunders of Abilene, Rusty and Dian Saunders of Baytown, Texas and Ric and Jamie of Clyde. Nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
