Calvin J Montgomery(79) was born July 4th 1944 to Joe and Imagene Montgomery at Hendricks here in Abilene Texas. He joined his parents on September 10th 2023 with family at his side. He spent his youth near Houston and the family later moved back to Abilene. He graduated from Abilene high and moved to Dallas. There he thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Dallas police reserve and was part of the Abilene National Guard. He was very much a family man, and eventually moved Lana, Joey, and Amanda back here to help his father after his illness. He was so sweet and always the first to help. Here in Hamby, he served many years with the Hamby Voluntary Fire Department, and knew most everyone downtown. He was a devoted Christian and held the belief he was here for a reason. He resides in the hearts of all who knew him and his family; Joey Montgomery Sr, Amanda Luvaul, Joey Montgomery Jr, Lana Montgomery, Dia Montgomery, Christina Martinez, and his sisters Julie and Janis, brother in law Sean and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Hamby fire department will escort Calvin and family to the Hamby Activity Center on September 20th. They will leave the fire department at 1050am and his celebration of life will start at 11am.
