Obituary

Candelario "Candyman" Romero 49, of Abilene passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 after a long battle with diabetes and Wegener's disease. A Funeral Mass will be held at10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Robert Bush officiating. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 Sunday with Rosary from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Candyman was born June 12, 1966 in Abilene, Texas to Raymond and Alice Romero. He was a graduate of Abilene High School. He worked in sales/finance and did commercial flooring for Callaway's Carpet. He was loved by many and loved all of his nieces and nephews, he gave them all funny nicknames. He always tried to attend their school and extracurricular activities. Candyman was well known for his charismatic personality and sense of humor, he had a witty character that could light up any room with stories to last a lifetime. With an undisguised spoken mind, and his generous heart, Candyman will be missed dearly and never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Alice Romero, paternal grandparents Candelario and Maria Romero, Maternal grandparents Jesse and Adela Barerra. He is survived by his daughter, Whitney Alice Peacock. Three grandchildren. Three brothers, Raymond B. Romero, Robert Romero and Michael Romero. One sister, Maria Romero. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Raymond B. Romero, Michael Romero, Raymond A. Romero, Tim Davis and Carlos Garcia.
