Obituary

Carl Eugene Pruitt Jr. also known as "Uncle Bubba", 52, of Stamford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.

Carl was born on April 26, 1974, in Stamford, Texas, to Vickie Sue Powell and Carl Eugene Pruitt. He spent many years working as an exterminator for Valentine in Snyder, Texas, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He continued working until his health declined due to kidney failure.

Carl found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a special love for his fur babies, who brought him endless companionship and happiness. A devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers, he rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. He also enjoyed grilling, cooking for family and friends, and tending to his garden. Carl was truly a jack of all trades, always willing to lend a helping hand and able to fix just about anything.

Above all, Carl cherished his family. He was a loving son, a devoted brother, and the best uncle anyone could ask for. His kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love for those closest to him will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Carl Eugene Pruitt Sr.; grandmother, Barbara Fought; step-father, Bill Powell; and fur babies, Gus and Annabelle.

Left to cherish his memories are: mother, Vickie Sue Powell; sisters, Becky Fox of Abilene, Cathy Pender of Stamford; brother, Billy Powell of Stamford. Uncle Bubba had a very special bond with each and every niece and nephew. Grieving nephew, Chris Brown of Abilene; niece JoAnna Pardo of Stamford, Marissa Rodriguez of Corpus; RJ Saucedo of Stamford; Cassie Saucedo of Stamford; Jocelynn Powell of Abilene; Colston Powell of Abilene and a host a great nieces and nephews.

Carl's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to honor his memory through the love, laughter, and countless memories they shared together.
