Carmen Flores of Abilene passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Her Home with Family by her side. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:30am at New Life Temple located at 2465 Old Anson Rd, Abilene, TX 79603 with Pastor Ezequiel Pecina Officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday 7:30pm to 9pm at the North's Funeral Home Chapel. Services entrusted to North's Funeral Home. Carmen was born April 7, 1952 in Seymour, TX to Anita Villa and Nickolas Acosta. Carmen moved to Abilene at an early age and received her primary education from Abilene public schools. She worked as a Child Care Director for Christ House Nursery for over 20 years. Carmen met the love of her life Robert "Tavo" Flores they got married April 7, 1968, and they spent 48 loving years together before his passing in 2016. Carmen loved to go to Garage Sales, and quite frequently visited the Goodwill Stores. She loved spending time with family specifically her children and grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, and cooking for family events. Carmen was preceded in death by husband of 48 years Robert Flores, parents Nickolas Acosta and Anita V. Acosta, sister Mary Stokes, brother Margarito Acosta, daughter Margaret Acosta, grandchildren; Breanna Camacho, Elexus Flores, and Joe R. Garcia. Left to cherish her memories are: daughter, Rachel Flores (Gary) of Abilene, Joe Flores (Elvira) of Abilene, Yolanda Flores of Abilene, Rocky Flores (Marisela) of Abilene, sisters; Frances Torres (Ramiro) of Brenham, TX, Irene Murillo(Benny) of Brenham, TX, Linda Garza of Austin, TX, Anita Rios (Alberto) of Dallas, TX.and Margaret Canales (Guillermo) of Hereford. Brothers: Pete Acosta of Abilene, Joe Acosta (Olga) of Abilene, Jesse Acosta (Rosie) of Abilene, TX.
