Obituary

Carole Jean Carnes 63 passed away peacefully at her home in Hawley on Saturday January 13 2007 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Tuesday January 16 from 6:00–7:00 PM followed by Rosary at 7:00-7:30 at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street in Abilene. Services will be held Wednesday January 17 at 2:00 PM at North's Memorial Chapel followed by graveside services at the Hawley Cemetery with Bill Dickson officiating. Carole was born April 21 1943 in Turtle Creek Pennsylvania. She served in the United States Navy. Carole married Rodger Carnes the love of her life on November 15 1972 and shared a life long partnership with him accompanying him on travels all over the United States with Hawley always being the main home. Carole was a strong beautiful woman that was loved very much and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She always put family first and made where ever she was a loving home. She was known for her creativity fantastic parties games decorations and elaborate meals. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Rodger Carnes. Daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Rick Gordon of Hawley son Robert Schoemer of Abilene; daughter Lisa Schoemer of Garland son Randy Carnes of Dallas step son Kenneth and wife Kristi of San Antonio and a very dear friend Sylvia Medina of Abilene. Three sisters Geri and husband Joe Nagle of Pennsylvania Rosalie Lanius of Ohio Delores Repic of Florida; and three brothers Basel Burrelli Dennis and wife Linda Burrelli David Burrelli all of Pennsylvania. Five precious grandchildren which all were the loves of her life include: Tricia Marie Tidwell Kellie Dianne Tidwell both of Hawley Jessica Carnes of San Antonio Vincent Carnes of Sylvester and Kaylee Sharp of Abilene; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are her parents David and Margaret Burrelli; sister Evelyn; and step daughter Kathy Diane Carnes.
