Cathy Rene' DeLaRosa 68, of Abilene, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017. A Memorial service will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. in North's Memorial Chapel. Mrs. DeLaRosa was born October 25, 1948 in San Angelo, Texas to Eldon B. and Myra (Prater) Gregg. She graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Texas. She married Richard DeLaRosa in 1980 in Dallas, Texas. She worked as a caregiver for many years. She loved her animals, helping others and family. At the time of her death she was a foster parent through the Foster Grandparent Program and loved the time she spent at Day Nursery of Abilene. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and grandson, Daniel Ray Valencia. She is survived by her husband, Richard DeLaRosa. Two daughters, Serena Contreras and husband James, Nickie Roa and husband Armando. One son; Randy DeLaRosa and wife Shannon. Seven grandchildren; Melanie Valencia, James Contreras, Jr., Vicente Contreras, Alyssa Roa, Alexus Roa, DeLaney DeLaRosa and Dodge DeLaRosa.
