Cecil Joyce Wille, 75, of Abilene, departed this earth for a new and better life on Saturday, September 19, 2015. She was born on January 14, 1940 on a small farm just outside of Senath, Mo. to her parents, Cecil X. and Velma Sylvia (Hall) Wilson. Living on a farm until Joyce was 20, very much proved to have its own challenges. While most girls were learning to cook, clean, and sew, Joyce was driving a John Deere tractor that habitually slung oil. By the end of the day, she was covered from head to toe in oil...just about all you could see were her eyes! Even though, she always claimed she would never love a man like she loved her dog, Pat...Joyce married her soulmate, Bob Eugene Wille on September 11, 1960 at the Church of Christ in Senath, Mo. When she first got married, she was so shy...instead of standing beside her minister husband to help greet church members, she would go outside to play with the children. Joyce was a faithful wife and Christian and loved teaching children's Bible class for over 45 years...utilizing her unique skills with visual aids that she had made with her very own hands. She never missed a service unless she was sick...and although she claimed she couldn't "carry a tune in a bucket", one of her greatest joys was to sing with the church on Sundays. In 1962, she was diagnosed with a rare neuro-muscular condition, but defied the doctor's prognosis and went on to lead an active life that included playing on the church softball team, being a member of a bowling league, and serving as a room mother for her children's school. Even though she endured a great amount of physical pain over the course of her life, she always seemed to find a positive outlook in every situation. Having been a diehard Cardinals' fan ever since she was little girl, she even found quality time to teach her son Jim how to play catch. She was unfailingly kind and generous...and always greeted everyone with a smile. Joyce never met a stranger and had had an uncanny ability to remember special dates like birthdays and anniversaries. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed a ball game or musical performance. She was never too tired to read "just one more book, MeMaw" or fix the boys' favorite snack. One of her greatest legacies was her 20 years with Abilene ISD as a teacher's aide for special needs children. Her enthusiasm and energy could be seen every day, whether she was helping in the cafeteria or reviewing a spelling test with a group of children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Eugene Wille; her father, Cecil X. Wilson; her mother, Velma Sylvia Wilson; and her sister, Mary Julia Wilson. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Lynn Riddle and her husband Rick of Abilene, Texas; a son, James (Jim) Allen Wille and his wife Charla of Oklahoma City, OK; a brother, Noah James (N.J.) Wilson and his wife Anna of Kingston, OK; and a brother, Edwin Isaac (Ike) Wilson of Edmond, OK. Joyce is also survived by three grandchildren: Jacob (wife Lindsey), Luke (wife Larissa), and Ben, all of Abilene, Texas...as well as 4 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Hayden, Hunter, and Aaden...with a great-grandson and great-granddaughter on the way. A memorial service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Hillcrest Church of Christ, 650 Ambler Avenue in Abilene, Texas.
