Charles (Calvin) Allmand, 81, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Graveside Services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with David Ray officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday evening at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street. Charles Calvin Allmand was born on September 6, 1933 in Abilene, Texas to James Calvin Allmand and Leona Allmand. He served his country by joining the Air Force in 1952, and leaving in 1957 with an honorable discharge. Calvin retired from the City of Abilene after thirty one years of loyal service. He had a great love for kids and animals. Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Allmand; his parents, J.C. Allmand and Leona Allmand, all of Abilene. He leaves behind his trusty companion, Buster Boy; wife, Ruby Allmand; two sons, Charles Allmand, Jimmy Allmand and wife Vickie of Abilene; two stepchildren, Walter Thames and wife Scha, Ricky Napier and husband Darrell, all of Abilene; eight grandchildren: Thomas Allmand, Phillip Allmand, Jeff Allmand, Avery Thames, Josiah Thames, Gideon Thames, Krystalline Napier, Aaron Napier, and five great-grandchildren.
