Charles Lee Greer, age 93, of Abilene, TX passed peacefully on September 27, 2023. He was born July 26, 1930 in Enid, Ok to Charles Frank Greer and Ferrell Louise Kay Greer. His wife of 70 years, Ellen Mateline Greer, died July 14, 2023. They raised their children in Fort Stockton, Tx where he was employed by the United States Post Office. Later, he and Ellen moved to Colorado City, TX where he was the Postmaster until his retirement. They spent their retirement years traveling the country, spending most of their time in Arizona until settling in Abilene, TX in 2008. He was also an U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Robert James Greer and John Harold Greer. He was also preceded in death by his many siblings; Helen Mary Greer, Ferrell Louise Chenault, Charlotte Frances Dodd, Ruth Belle Hatfill, Mildred Gaylord, Loxley Owen Greer, Betty Jean Greer, John Edward Greer, Paula Marie Phillips and Franklin Greer. He is survived by a son; William Dennis Greer of Odessa, TX and two daughters; Ellen Samford of Houston, TX and Lisa Williams of Abilene, TX . He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kathy Greer, Tina Vasquez, Cindy Mason, Anthony Greer, Amber Satterfield, Caleb Greer, Nathan Lujan, Rachel Lujan, Angelica Lujan, Elizabeth Mootz and numerous great grandchildren.
