Cheryll Dian Dorsey Fitzgerald /AKA "Ann" 71 of Abilene passed away wednesday September 11, 2024 in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held Thursday September 19, 2024 at 11am at Valley View Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Penns officiating. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery. She remained in Abilene, Texas and attended Abilene high school. Cheryll was one of a kind and if you had the pleasure of being in her presence then no need for explanation. Cheryll was straight to the point and at times had no filter. This made her Ann! She was also nurturing, funny, compassionate and would give you her last and always make a way. Most of all she was a divine cook. From oxtail, enchiladas, banana pudding, to some cow tongue, literally whatever you wanted she would make, and it would be to die for. Cheryll was a true representation of not letting your past define you. She made amends with the lord and herself. She strived to not be perfect but the best version of herself and was a true inspiration. Cheryll Dian Dorsey Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her mother and father; Beatrice and Mortin Dorsey, brothers; John Arthur Miller, Richard Level, Richard Miller, sisters; Erma Goree, Mozelle Williams, Jessie Hickman, and grandson; Dennis Willis. Cheryll Dian "Ann" Dorsey Fitzgerald is survived by her children; eldest child and daughter Catherine Dorsey, daughter Nakesha Lucas, son Andrew Dorsey, brothers; Lonnie Fitzgerald, Leonard Taylor, and sister; Doris Appleby, grandchildren; April Hunter & Darius Dorsey, Kia Lucas and Marcus Lucas, Dereon Dorsey, Demotric Sanchez, Andrew Dorsey and Arnesia Dorsey. great-grandchildren: DJ Turner, Elizah Willis, Jordan Dorsey, Darius Dorsey, Carson Dorsey, Damarion Dorsey, Kaniah Parham and Kharee Parham. Deandre Lucas, Jayden Lucas and Koa Lucas, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She formed incredible lifelong connections and made a major impact on our lives. She will truly be missed. The family of Cheryll Fitzgerald wishes to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to our wonderful hospice Nurses for her end of life care. She remained comfortable and peaceful in her last days.
