Clinton E. Ward 75 of Abilene  went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 3 2011.  Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday May 5 2011 at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange .  Funeral services will be Friday May 6 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Temple Christian Center 3101 N. 12 th Street .  Pall bearers will be grandsons: Charlie Ward Mike Ward Chris Ward Tim Farrar Gregory Farrar Rubin Galvan Conner Galvan and Chance Galvan. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Abilene . Clinton was born November 17 1935 in Abilene Texas to Clinton E. Ward Sr. and Mary Lou Neece.  After Clinton 's father died at a very young age his mother married Fred Souders in 1946 who raised him and his sister as his own.  He attended Abilene and Wylie schools playing both football and baseball.  He met the love of his life Mary Ann Conner and they were married February 5 1955 in Abilene .  They made their home in Abilene where Clinton worked for the City of Abilene for 42 years.  He began with the survey party in the Street Department and retired as a Senior Street Construction Inspector in 1995 at the age of 60.  He was an avid bowler hunter fisherman and gardener.  The pride and joys of his life were his wife children grand-children and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed his many friendships with people his coffee drinking buddies at the Colonial Inn and the members of Beta Sigma Phi of which his wife is a lifetime member.  He was preceded in death by his father Clinton E. Ward Sr. mother Mary Lou Souders step-father Fred Souders sister Marty Lou Welch and husband Tom Welch grandchildren Amanda James and Brandon Farrar. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Ward of Abilene; children Duwaine Ward and wife Wendy Cindy Farrar and husband Gregg of Abilene and Kathy Galvan and husband Joe of Anson; his brother Russell Souders and wife Donna of Abilene; ten grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces as well as his lifelong and dear friend Max Bowen of Corsicana.   He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by many.  We love you "Grandad".
