Cora Lee Allen departed this life on February 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by her children and family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday February 25, 2023 at 1pm at Galilee Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm at North's Funeral Home.
Cora was born in Ballinger , TX to Elisha and Lee Etta Barnes. She was married to R.L. Allen Sr. and Willie D., Ellis Sr.. Cora worked for Kiva and many hotels in Abilene. She loved to cook, play cards, laugh, and be with her children and grandchildren. She loved having Sunday dinners at her home with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elisha and Lee Etta Barnes. One Son Mickey Don Allen, 2 grandchildren, Mi'Kayla Faith Allen and Donte Allen, brother Archie Barnes, Milton Barnes, Melvin Barnes, and Henry Lee Barnes. 5 sisters Etta Jean Terry, Etta V. Jefferson, Mary Ann Johnson, Ola Mae Sloan, and Lorine Landor.
Left to cherish her memories are 6 sons; R.L. Allen Jr. Melvin Allen, Billy Allen (Erica), Cal Ray Allen, Don Ray Allen, Willie D. Ellis Jr., 2 daughters Yvonne Ellis, Gwen Ellis. One brother Elisha Barnes (Ernestine), 2 sisters Nannie Lee Barnes, Corine Colbert (Nelson), 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
