Corinne Mary Karasewich 82 of Abilene died Saturday March 30 2013 at a local medical center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in North's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Luke Back and Dr. John Elford officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St. Corinne was born May 15 1930 to Irene Amelia (Moss) and Roderick Soucy in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. She married Eugene George Karasewich in 1949. Eugene preceded her in death in 1987. Corinne and Eugene moved to Abilene in 1978 and were active in the Abilene community and the Church of the Heavenly Rest for many years.   Corinne lived in Canada Scotland New York City and Abilene Texas. No matter where she lived she made many friends and maintained those friendships for many years. She was a strong positive lady with a sweet caring disposition who cared deeply for others.   She is survived by her two sons Martin Karas of Victoria Canada and Carl Karas of California; twodaughters Deborah Gross and husbandDennis of Tucson Arizona and Therese Karasewich and partner T.J. Fielding ofAustin Texas; four grandsons Devon Carriere and partner Joao Casari of NewYork Paul Carriere and wife Shannon of Phoenix Arizona Julian Karas ofThunder Bay Canada and Peter Karas andwife Corinne of London Canada; and three great-grandchildren Emma and Ivy Karas and Dreydon Carriere.
