Curtis David "DJ" Jones 57 of Abilene passed away Sunday February 26 2012 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in North's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bob Collins Pastor David McQueen and Pastor Scott Hassett officiating.
DJ was born September 28 1954 in Bogalusa Louisiana to Shelby and Shirley Jones. DJ's dad was a mechanic and as a result of following his daddy around DJ developed a love for automotive work. DJ always said his dad was his inspiration. Treating people fairly and doing quality work was a lesson learned at his daddy's side. It was always his childhood dream to build and work on fast cars and he eventually went into the auto service industry. DJ had a passion for cars and to make sure people were treated fairly. He was driven by honesty integrity and compassion; which eventually led him to open up his own auto repair shop. DJ's 5 Star Auto opened in 2000 on Cherry St. in Abilene Texas and every car that left his shop had his personal guarantee. DJ loved people and he loved to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents sister; Leah Jones and brother Shane Jones.
He is survived by his wife Debra Jones of Abilene ; sons; Clint Jones Dallas Jones and Patrick Jones and their children. Sister; Kisha Shelton. Brothers; Shelby Jones Jr. Audie Jones and Skip Jones.
