Curtis Lee Smith Jr. of Abilene passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the age of 69. Curtis was born February 2, 1954 in Hale Center, Texas to Curtis Lee Smith Sr. and Eddie Mae Wilson. He received his primary education from Hale Center public schools. He then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served our country for several years as a diesel mechanic. After his military service, Curtis lived in Denver, Colorado and Dallas prior to settling in Abilene in the early 1990's. Curtis was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to watch western movies on television.Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Lee Smith Sr., Eddie Mae Lett-Wilson, father Earnest Gene Wilson, sisters Edna Mae Wilson, Pamela Sue Smith, Glenda Jean Wilson, Linda Joyce Wilson, and brother Charles Dean Wilson.Left to cherish his memories are his wife Rachel Vasquez of Abilene, sister Frances Ray of Denver, Colorado, brother Kenneth Wilson of Beeville, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
