Dan Snow 83 formerly of Abilene passed away Tuesday March 6 2012 in Irving Texas . A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in North's Memorial Chapel with David Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St.Mr. Snow was born March 10 1928 in Merkel Texas to Dillard R. and Lucille Snow. The family moved to Wylie where he grew up and graduated from Wylie High School . He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He married Juan Dean Deatherage in 1949 at Hamby Baptist Church . Mr. Snow was a skilled craftsman as both a carpenter and a stone mason. Among his many hobbies included gardening golf and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents two sisters Billie and Charlene and one brother Jimmy.He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years Dean Snow. One son Billy Dan Snow and wife Maggie.
