Darnell E. Baldwin, affectionately known as "Kemo," passed away on December 28, 2025, in Abilene, Texas .Funeral services will be held Saturday January 10, 2026 at 1pm at King Solomon Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Friday January 9, from 5-7pm at North's Funeral Home.
Born in Hamlin, Texas, Darnell spent much of his life in Abilene, where he attended school and graduated from Abilene High School. During his high school years, he excelled in football and track, earning recognition for his athletic ability and dedication.
Darnell continued his education at Texas Southern University, where he distinguished himself as an All-Star athlete. He was also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., an affiliation he held close to his heart and spoke of with great pride.
Above all, Darnell loved his family and friends. He was known for his loyalty, warmth, and the strong bonds he maintained with those closest to him.
He is survived by his children: Jessica Stevenson of Abilene, TX. Alisa Baldwin of Dallas, TX, Chris Hines of Abilene, TX. Sereniti Nicole Fletcher of Denton, TX, Professor Andrea Baldwin of College Station, TX. Darius Keyshan Gibson of Fort Worth, TX. Brother Elgin Baldwin Jr. (Monica) of Denton, Texas; and his sisters, Virginia McPherson (Ulichous) of Abilene, Texas, Linda Gailes (Frankie) of Abilene, TX. Only living aunt, Mary Fransis Daughtery of Abilene, only living uncle Brady Baldwin of Lubbock TX, god-brother Gerald "Mack" McCauley of Oklahoma, and a host of extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elgin Baldwin Sr. and Elberta Baldwin, daughter Jasmine Carter, and his sister, Kathy Baldwin.
