Obituary

David Lewis Adams 57 formerly of Abilene Texas died Saturday February 17 2007 in Chatsworth California. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday February 22 2007 at Grace United Methodist Church 1402 Grape St. with Gayle Thornberry and Tom Long officiating. Burial will follow in Maryneal Cemetery in Maryneal Texas under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. David was born June 28 1949 in Abilene Texas to Joseph W. Adams and Margaret E. Hiscock Adams. He attended Abilene schools and worked for Webb's Upholstery before joining the army and serving seven years in Kentucky California Hawaii and Korea. He also worked as a welder for the shipyards in Los Angeles. He worked for Rocketdyne as a welder on the Space Shuttle and helped construct the first solar thermal power plant in the Mojave Desert in California. David was preceded in death by his father Joseph W. Adams. Survivors include; Pete Holliday his life companion of thirty-three years from Chatsworth California; his mother Margaret Adams of Abilene two brothers; Joe Henry Adams and wife Patsy of Tye Chris Adams and wife Brenda of Eula; two nephews one niece four great-nieces one great-nephew and two great-great-nephews. He is also survived by an aunt Cherry Wise of England and many cousins. Serving as pallbearers are Dale Adams Lewis Adams Bill Beard Rusty Fry Eugene Hufford and Mike Lanier.
