David Lee Sr. 66, of Abilene, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. David was born on January 1, 1959, in Abilene to the late Robert Lee Sr. and Odessa Polk-Lee. David was the youngest of 11 children. He grew up in Merkel, TX and attended School in Merkel ISD. David was an exceptional athlete who especially enjoyed playing basketball and running track. After High School, David moved to Abilene, where he would spend the rest of his life surrounded by family and friends. David was employed at Mrs. Baird's, Whataburger and Popeyes. He loved a good piece of fried chicken or fried fish- that was his favorite. David is survived by his children David Lee Jr., Lynnae Lee, brother Glen Lee Sr., sister, Hazel Lee, both of Abilene, TX. and a host of nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Odessa Lee, brothers: Adolf Lee, Henry Lee, Bobby Lee, Robert Lee Jr. and Tommy Lee Sr. Sisters: Iva Jean Dillard, Helen Lee and Mae Lee. A visitation will be held Friday October 17, 2025 at 11am followed by a Funeral Service at 2pm at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St. . David will be remembered for his generous spirit, and the love he had for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
