David Smith of Abilene passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022.

A Memorial Service will be held at Westgate Church of Christ 402 S Pioneer Dr. Abilene, TX 79605. Sunday June 12, 2022 at 1pm.

David Mark Smith was born on October 11th, 1959. Dave was blessed with 62 years on this earth and 38 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife Sharlotte Ann Smith, his daughter and her husband Megan And Brennen Hardy, his sons Zac Smith and Chance and his wife Shelly Riehl (and their three sons), his parents Virgil and Mary Etta Smith, his sisters Janalee and husband Craig Smith & Julie Reinke and husband Travis, several nieces and nephews and so many more loved ones.

He was a good friend to all that knew him and loved by any children that came near him. In his ranching days Dave was a mentor to a couple men throughout the years, TJ and Rodie. Dave was a simple man but he was known for his love of football, being firm in his beliefs, and a fierce love for his wife and children and all children loved Dave. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors, especially Yellowstone National Park and Ruidoso, NM. He loved to play guitar and he had a passion for music, but most of all singing in church. He was a craftsman with lumber and enjoyed building anything he could on the weekends. Dave will be dearly missed and we know he will be our guardian angel until we meet again.
