Obituary

D.C. Macon, Jr., age 87 of Abilene went home to his Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3 from 9am to 11:30 am with funeral services beginning at 11:30 am at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be private. D.C. was born on September 23, 1933 in Stamford, Texas to Cleo and Lovie Garret Macon. He was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class 0f 1953 and lived in the area his entire life. In 1960 he married the love of his life, Levona Graham and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. D.C. loved cars, especially Cadillacs and was the owner and operator of Macon Chevron in Abilene, retiring in 1981. He was a longtime member of Woodlawn Church of Christ and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Lovie and his brother Bill. D.C. is survived by his beloved wife Levona; children, Chuck Sparks and wife Shirley of Tuscola, Karen Holland and husband Joe of Abilene and Dianna Sanderfur and husband Scott of Abilene; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
