Obituary

Debbie Kay Jones passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at 9:40 a.m. Debbie was born on June 16, 1953, in Abilene, Texas to Charles Lloyd Burks and Jessie Christene Burks Jones. Debbie devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. She found joy in caring for those she loved and took great pride in making a house feel like a home. She was the family's favorite cook, and her kitchen was often the heart of every gathering. Whether preparing a holiday meal or a simple family dinner, she expressed her love through every dish she made. Her family was the center of her world. She dearly loved her grandchildren, but nothing brought her more happiness than watching her great-grandchildren grow. Their laughter, smiles, and visits filled her heart with joy, and she treasured every moment she spent with them. Though Debbie passed quietly, the love and kindness she shared throughout her life will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless memories she created around the table and in the home she lovingly cared for. While her passing leaves a tremendous void, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents, her brother, and her beloved son. Debbie will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lloyd Burks and Jessie Christene Burks Jones; her brother, Michael Lloyd Burks; and her son, Jimmy Elton McHorse. She is survived by her husband, Craig Jones; her daughter, Angela McHorse; her brother, Johnny Wayne Burks; her grandsons, Eric Ebeling and wife, Taelor Ebeling, Ian Ebeling and wife, Taylor Ebeling, and Alex Reagan; her great-grandchildren, Emalyn, Ella, Grace, Emry, Evan, and Iris; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
