Debra Ann Hickman "Dinky", 58, of Abilene, TX, Passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Her warm and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dinky was born on December 5, 1966 to Elbert Beaver and Mary Ann Barnes. She worked for 30 years at Grandy's, where she was beloved by her colleagues and customers. Dinky had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, and her bright smile could light up any room. She never met a stranger and always found a way to connect with others. In her free time, Dinky enjoyed watching her favorite hallmark shows and had a love for playing the lottery and gambling. She found joy in little things and brought that happiness to those around her. Dinky was preceded in death by her parents; Elbert Beaver and Mary Ann Barnes, and brother Rolando Polk. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Derrick Spotwood Sr., and their children: Ebony Beaver of Haskell, TX, Dionne McBride of Midland, TX, Derrick Spotwood Jr. of Abilene, TX, Shanequa Spotwood and Shamae Spotwood, both of Dallas, TX. Dinky is also survived by her siblings; James Johnson, Ronald Polk, and Mary Barnes of Abilene, TX, Joann Cruz of Wichita Falls, TX, and Louise Johnson of Haskell, TX. Additionally, Dinky is cherished by 10 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00am at Galilee Baptist Church in Abilene, TX, with Pastor Bobby King officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 7, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at North's Funeral Home. Dinky's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love, kindness and infectious joy will never be forgotten. The family of Debra Ann Hickman would like to express their gratitude and love to the Gupta family.
