Janet Denice "Nicie" Rodgers Smith 54 of Abilene Texas passed away on March 27 th 2012 at 5:00 pm at a local hospital. Memorial services will be held on March 30 th 2:00 pm at Elmwood West United Methodist Church 1302 South Pioneer Drive Abilene Texas . Reverend Ryan Strebeck will be presiding over the funeral services. There will be a visitation immediately following the memorial service at Elmwood West UMC. Arrangements are being handled by North's Funeral Home 242 Orange . Denice was born in Bronte Texas on April 6 1957 to Dennis and Barbara Rodgers. She grew up in Winters Texas and graduated from Winters High School class of 1975 where she participated in many of the high school's activities serving as Drum Major for two years. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Winters and its youth ministry. She has been an active member at Elmwood West United Methodist Church of Abilene since 1990. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Troy Harter her grandfather C.O. Rodgers and grandmother "Lady Rodgers". She is survived by grandmother Mae Dean Harter father and mother Dennis and Barbara Rodgers spouse Randall Smith two sons Brad and girl-friend Kasey Judd and wife Allison grandson Josiah brother Dean Rodgers and wife Rose.
