Dickey Graves, age 62, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home in Abilene, TX. Born and raised in Abilene, Dickey was the son of Charles Graves and Betty Darlene Killion and was raised by Joe and Darlene Killion. He was a Master Plumber by trade and an extremely hard and dedicated worker, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Dickey enjoyed motorcycles, coin collecting, country dancing and reading his Bible. He had a quick wit and loved to make people laugh. Dickey had a kind heart and lived to show love to the lost. He helped to establish and run several drug and alcohol recovery centers in the Abilene area. His favorite scripture was Psalm 91, which he quoted regularly and was never shy to share his faith. Dickey is survived by his daughter, Amanda Graves of Abilene, son Denver Graves and wife Michelle of Dallas and son Tanner Bayne of Abilene, grandchildren, McKennah Chitwood, Carley Craig, Robert Castro and Janelle Bayne, step father Joe Killion and wife Lyanna of Abilene, sister Debra Lammons and husband Mark of Abilene, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dickey is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard "Dick" Guthrie and Willie Mae Guthrie, mother Betty Darlene Killion, biological father Charles "Chuck" Graves, and brother Davis Daniel Graves. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who offered support and prayers during this difficult time. Special thanks to the medical staff at Hendrick ICU and Hendrick Hospice as well as the support and services provided by Norths Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Monday December 9, 2024 at 1pm at Abilene Municipal Cemetery 1133 Cottonwood St. Abilene, TX .
