Dock Colbert 92, of Abilene passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at North's Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 27, 2026,11:00 AM at Church of Christ. Burial to follow at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery 1:00 PM.
Dock Eugene Colbert was born in Rosebud, TX to John L Colbert and Rachel Milligan Colbert. He attended Wilson School in Rosebud, TX.
Dock's passion was his love of music and teaching his dance moves to his nieces and nephew. He worked as a field hand alongside his father and siblings; he served in the Army and upon discharge returned to do factory work and car detailing until he retired. Dock was a faithful servant to his church 10th and Treadaway Church of Christ until his health became an issue.
Dock was preceded in death by his father John L Colbert, mother Rachel Milligan Colbert, his siblings Johnny Lee Colbert, Juanita Williams, Billie Louise Colbert, Eddie Colbert, Ivery Colbert, Phyllis Colbert, Claudette Watkins, Nelson Colbert, and his wife Gwendolyn Evans Colbert. Dock was a devoted husband, father and brother.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Norris Colbert /Sharon of Little Elm TX, Robert Colbert of Rosebud TX, Mary Stinnett of Dallas TX, Jerry Colbert of Dallas TX, Gwendlyn Haily of Dallas, TX, Bonnie Evans, Rogenger Pierre, Marilyn Age, Shannon Evans, Jovita Evans, Joe Hughes, Guinevere Evans all of Abilene TX; his Sisters Mary K Campbell of Abilene, TX, Willie Mae Mc Griff (Anthony) of Abilene TX, Allean Jasmin-Maloy (Willie) of Round Rock TX, and Mary Ann Jackson (Daily) of Dallas, TX. Docks also leaves a host of grandchildren/great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives/friends who will miss him dearly.
